I was happy to see the introduction of the movie poster. It is very similar to what I had been taught many years ago called Treasure Maps.
Treasure maps are generally depicting one specific goal using pictures and phrasing from magazines. I made a lot of these with extraordinary results. One example was that I put myself standing on the right arm of the Sphinx in Giza. It was a year or so later that I visited Egypt and had a friend take a picture of me standing on the Sphinx in the exact same spot as depicted in the Treasure Map. When I returned from the trip I realized how precise the Treasure Map and the photo were.
I made a Treasure Map for getting a Mercedes 450 SL. It was the most classy car in the 70s and I wanted one bad. I did finally buy a 1973 bamboo yellow Mercedes 450 SL more than a decade after making the Treasure Map. I actually reference this car in my Press Release.
One of the benefits of scaling back my work week is that I have Mondays off. It has been a blessing to do a lot of the more time-consuming parts of the assignments on Monday. Today (Monday), I was able to do my Movie Poster and I know that having done all those Treasure Maps made it easy for me to take on this assignment.
This course is a lot of work and just staying up with everything is a victory in itself. I am confident that the course is drawing out the best in all of us.
